Additional Tips about confirming a Job Interview

While we are at the topic, we thought that a quick reminder about few more Do’s and Don’ts would be helpful.


While sending a letter or email to confirm, do not ask questions like salary offered, if the job is permanent or temporary etc.

In this age of Google search and GPS, don’t bother to ask the location or the directions if that can be easily answered through an online search. As long as you have the proper address in a big town, it should be fine.


If you’re interviewing in a location you’re not familiar with, make sure you visit the place before the date of interview. If it is not possible that try mapping your directions with the help of a good app on your smart phone such as Google Maps.

This way you will reach your destination at the right time avoiding anxiety and wastage of time locating the building at the 11th hour.

That way, you’ll ensure that you are not late for your interview.

Plan to reach the venue ten to fifteen minutes before time. Sometimes the entrances to large office buildings or factory complex or university campuses can be confusing and distances on foot overwhelming.

It would be good idea to keep an ID proof with you in the event the building has a security desk that requires it.

Keep the telephone number of the hiring manager in your phone contacts in case your name is not on the security list.

These tips would help you avoid rushing which can otherwise leave you looking sweaty and feeling flustered.

When You Need to Cancel or Reschedule

Sometimes, due to some unforeseen circumstances you may not be in a position to attend the interview at the appointed hour or the scheduled day. This would require you to reschedule the interview, by giving the prospective employer as much notice as possible.

In case of such a situation, immediately reach out by email or phone.

Share a few alternate times for the interview when you would be available for the interview.
