Normally employers do not spend more than a minute to go through your resume. Your resume also called a CV, can make you stand above the crowd if written well and organized properly.

2. Objective

This is the beginning of your career. So you should share with the prospective employer that what direction or department or field you are interested in which you want to make a career. This will also help the Human Resource Department to arrange your interview with the right Team Leader.

It will pay you to be specific and not write some general statement or vague sentences in this section of your resume.

3. Education

This heading is also called as Educational Qualifications or Professional Qualifications.

The proper information in this section will help the prospective employer to check if you have the basic qualifications for the job you are applying for. Do make sure that you give all the details such as the Name of the Course / Program / Degree / Diploma; full name of course – rather than the abbreviations; Name of the Institute / College / University; Year of passing out / qualifying etc.

4. Internships & Projects

The selector will refer to this section to see if you have been exposed to the area or domain you wish to make career in. The prospective employer would like to check if you have the basic ability.

Therefore, write these details very carefully as this will show to the recruiter that how you are different from others who are applying for the same job.

5. Special Skills

This is something in addition to what you have learnt in your college or university program. For example, if you are an MBA with specialization in marketing but have also learnt to do some software programming, then do mention about it. It would be good idea to not only mention about the skill but also if you have done some work on it.

6. Others

Don’t just ignore it or write something casually in this section of your resume. This section should be well made use of to show case your other abilities and learning. For example, you may like to mention about your knowledge of languages; your publication; or any awards or recognition received by you.
